The Cabin
Completed in 2019, Grey Duck features an open floor plan and fourteen-foot floor-to-ceiling windows, providing panoramic views of the forest by day and a display of stars by night. At one thousand square feet Grey Duck has two bedrooms and one bath, accommodating up to four people. The master bedroom has one king memory foam mattress while the guest bedroom has two memory foam twin beds.
The living room at Grey Duck Cabin is the ultimate hangout spot, equipped with a diverse selection of games for "friendly" competition, a soundbar for enjoying your favorite tunes, and a flat-screen TV perfect for family movie nights. The most beloved spot in the cabin is undoubtedly the screen porch. It offers a peaceful setting to enjoy the sights and sounds of the surrounding forest, day or night.
Grey Duck operates on an off-grid solar energy system, supplemented by a backup generator to ensure power during your stay in this remote location. You may hear the generator run from time to time but despite being off-grid, you'll enjoy modern comforts such as WiFi, in-floor heating, a gas fireplace, oven range, and refrigerator—all seamlessly integrated into your cabin experience.

The property is forty private acres, completely surrounded by George Crosby Manitou State Park, State Land, and the Manitou River. We have chairs setup for you by the water so grab a drink or a good book and get ready to relax to the sounds of the river.
Within walking distance from the driveway, you'll discover numerous spots to explore, including access to the State Park and entrance points to the Superior Hiking Trail just two miles away. In summer, it's perfect for hiking, and in winter, it serves as the state snowmobile trail.
